The A40, known as the Autoroute Blanche, covers almost the entire distance from Geneva to Chamonix. The journey ends with a few kilometres of valley road and no hairpin climb. That is what makes it one of the most dependable links of the winter: even under heavy snowfall, the corridor stays open.
A year-round destination
Unlike many resorts, Chamonix lives as much in summer as in winter: mountaineering, hiking, the Aiguille du Midi, the Mer de Glace. We run the link all year, on the same terms.
We also serve Argentière, Les Houches, Servoz and Vallorcine, and the Mont Blanc tunnel for connections to Courmayeur and the Aosta valley.
From the airport
We meet you in the arrivals hall and the car joins the A40 within minutes of leaving the airport. This is the most common setup on this route and the simplest: you land, and you are in Chamonix less than ninety minutes later.
